TEL AVIV, Israel – May 8, 2012 – Viewbix, developer of a versatile interactive-video platform, announces today that it has raised $2 million in a series 'A' funding round led by Canaan Partners with participation from Longfellow Venture Partners. Viewbix has developed an easy-to-use yet powerful platform that enables small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) to add user engagement features, apps, and social sharing tools to their video content.

Currently, if a business or organization wishes to provide supplementary information to their video, they can only do so in a manner that pulls users away to a separate site or service. Whether that information is a map, a registration page, or photos, users are pulled away from the content and the context of the video player.

Viewbix tackles this problem with a custom video solution that lets users add dynamic, interactive content to their videos in less than three minutes. Viewbix works with videos hosted on popular platforms such as YouTube and Facebook, or any self hosted video. Users can customize the player with their own branding along with custom calls-to-action, or they can incorporate apps into the player such as maps, registration forms, or photos. Additionally, Viewbix provides support for a number of popular third-party services including Twitter, Flickr, Skype, Mail Chimp, Yahoo Weather, and many others.

Ultimately, businesses and site owners see greater user engagement and increased conversion rates when leveraging the Viewbix platform.

"There are millions of businesses and organizations worldwide who rely on video content to promote their enterprises. Our technology enables these businesses to radically increase the effectiveness of their videos by turning passive video viewers into customers who take action," said Jonathan Stefansky, CEO of Viewbix. "Our solution was developed specifically for the huge market of SMBs who feature video content. The recent investment and the support of Canaan Partners and Longfellow Venture Partners enable Viewbix to capitalize on the tremendous market demand we’ve seen."

"We believe there is a real-opportunity to drive additional engagement centered on video-content. Millions of SMBs are looking to video to help promote their services and they are hungry for additional tools that add additional value to their video content," said Izhar Shay, General Partner of Canaan Partners. "Viewbix has developed an incredible platform that allows business, non-profits, and other organizations to significantly increase the interactivity of their videos, turning them into highly effective promotional tools."

"I have been thoroughly impressed by Viewbix's interactive video technology and the functionality it brings to its users. Viewbix has also shown a commitment to continually innovating in this space and adding new features to its platform." said George Conrades, lead investor of Longfellow Venture Partners and Chairman of Akamai. "I'm confident that our continued investment in Viewbix will allow them to accelerate this process and to develop even more solutions for engaging video content."

In addition to its interactive-video solution, Viewbix provides a suite of analytics that allow users to fully understand how viewers are interacting with their videos. Site owners can glean valuable insights from this information and fine-tune the customizations to their player in order to achieve the best results.
