TNW Conference 2011: An Adventure in Amsterdam

I just came back from The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam. This conference was filled with lots of interesting lectures as well as all the pleasures that Amsterdam has to offer. I especially enjoyed Pablos Holman’s lecture which discussed how we can utilize the amazing technology we have today to make the world a better place and Robert Scoble’s lecture about TNW = Humans + Reality + VIrtual and the connection between the real, physical and virtual these days.

See the videos below:

Patrick and the whole TNW team put up a great conference: Interesting speakers, great guests and well organized. I even got a wake up email in the morning :-)

After the conference was over, I stayed in Amsterdam for Queensday which was quite an interesting cultural experience and one that shouldn’t be missed. On this day, the whole city is painted in orange as people walk out to the streets dressed in orange to celebrate this national holiday in the most celebratory manner possible. This includes: Heavy drinking, loud music and walking about in the streets with no aim, and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Below you can see some of the videos I shot of the streets of Amsterdam during Queensday. I warn you not to watch the last video if you are sickened by the thought of seeing eggs thrown on behinds. Yes, never thought I’d end a post with that sentence. Life is funny in that way.
