Two steps are required for Google to make this happen 1) create a network around the profile, e.g. teaming up with Twitter 2) Create a community - People like hanging around in Facebook, it's a cool place to hang around in that offers a richer interaction experience - if Google will be able to replicate a similar environment, they will be successful. It's not easy to create such an environment and Google have failed with it before. Teaming up with Twitter will get them halfway through, but step 2 will be the main challenge. it’s on!
