BloggersBase: Bringing Quality Content to the Web
With all the information on the Web today, it is becoming harder and harder to find good quality content. There are over 180 million bloggers worldwide and over 150,000 new blogs created each day. How can you sift through all of this data to get down to the quality content that is most relevant and interesting to you?
BloggersBase is a new Israeli startup, still in Beta, with a vision of making the Internet a better place by bringing quality content to readers. The site is a competition-based content discovery platform in which bloggers can submit content on a variety of topics, and based on readers’ ratings, the highest quality content is discovered and featured. The topics on BloggersBase span the content spectrum from Entertainment and Lifestyle to Technology and World Affairs.
BloggersBase takes the form of an online magazine made up of multi-authored blogs, each on a different topic. The content of these blogs is moderated by an algorithm based on reader ratings and responses, which discovers the highest quality content on the site. Readers can rate submitted content based on a variety of criteria from professionalism and presentation to value and imaginativeness. The more accurately you rate, the higher your influence becomes in deciding which content makes it to the top! This reader influence is one of the things that make BloggersBase so unique — bloggers need to appeal to their readers in order to gain recognition and success.
As a blogger on BloggersBase, not only can you take advantage of the unique opportunity to reach a targeted reader base instantly and receive ratings and critique from your readers, but you can also monetize on your talent in BloggersBase competitions. At the end of each competition time slot the three most acclaimed bloggers in each topic earn the honor of co-authoring the main blog for their topic, resulting in respect from their peers and exposure. In addition, the top two bloggers in each blog receive monetary compensation and special prizes.
BloggersBase is bringing bloggers and readers together in an entirely new way and bringing the world an easy way to find targeted, quality content.
I would like to invite you all to join the Social Media blog powered by Blonde 2.0 where anyone who has quality tips to share regarding social media tools, how to enhance your blog, how to utilize social networks, how to create a successful social application, etc. should definitely come and share their findings. Thanks for posting this on Twitter.
I think Bloggerbase is an excellent blogging platform.
It sounds interesting.
I’m always interested in up leveling the info overload.
I know there’s lots of systems that are supposed to help bubble up user rated content. What makes this stand out?
One distinction pattern I see is communities popping up for specific domains, such as software or finance. That’s cool.
What I’m looking for is where you have two ratings — an expert rating and a popular/user rating. Then let me browse what the experts say or what popular opinion says. Any wide gaps between the two would be interesting fodder and great Web 2.0 commentary.
That’s an excellent point J.D.!
BloggersBase is an excellent resource for the Blogosphere. thumbs up

I am really not too familiar with this topic but I do like to visit blogs for layout ideas and interesting topics. You really described a subject that I usually don’t care much about and made it very fascinating. This is a memorable blog that I will take note of. I already bookmarked it for future reference. Thx
